Birle\u015fik Arap Emirlikleri ve T\u00fcrkiye dahil 80\u2019i a\u015fk\u0131n \u00fclke taraf\u0131ndan desteklenen tasar\u0131, ABD taraf\u0131ndan veto edildi. \u0130ngiltere&#8217;nin \u201c\u00e7ekimser\u201d oy kulland\u0131\u011f\u0131 oylamada, 13 \u00fcye \u201cevet\u201d oyu verirken, konseyin daimi \u00fcyesi ABD\u2019nin \u201chay\u0131r\u201d oyu kullanmas\u0131 nedeniyle karar tasla\u011f\u0131 kabul edilmedi. ABD&#8217;nin BM Daimi Temscilisi Robert Wood karar tasar\u0131s\u0131nda Hamas&#8217;\u0131n k\u0131nanmamas\u0131n\u0131 ele\u015ftirerek, bunun kabul edilemez oldu\u011funu savundu. Gazze&#8217;de acil insani ate\u015fkes \u00e7a\u011fr\u0131s\u0131 yap\u0131lan karar tasar\u0131s\u0131nda, t\u00fcm taraflara uluslararas\u0131 hukuk kurallar\u0131na uyma \u00e7a\u011fr\u0131s\u0131 yap\u0131l\u0131yordu.
